SMeART at EDUCON 2019

The IEEE Global Engineering Education Conference (EDUCON) is the flagship conference of the IEEE Education Society and one of the most important conferences on Engineering Education. During a special Session Professor Manfred Leisenberg, project coordinator of SMeART, also presented results of the SMeART Knowledge Alliance.

The IEEE Global Engineering Education Conference (EDUCON) is the flagship conference of the IEEE Education Society and one of the most important conferences on Engineering Education. During a special Session Professor Manfred Leisenberg, project coordinator of SMeART, also presented results of the SMeART Knowledge Alliance.

This year's EDUCON was held in Dubai, UAE, April 9-11, 2019. During the conference, for the second time a Special Session on Internet of Things (IoT) Education has been organized. IoT is also in the focus of our SMeART project. The event focuses on all the educational activities related to IoT, including academic and VET program, work-based education, virtual and remote labs for didactic porpoises, national and international educational policies and instruments, international projects. The SMeART project coordinator Professor Dr. Manfred Leisenberg was chosen to lead this IoT session together with Dario Assante, a colleague from the ERASMUS+ fundet Project IoT4SMEs

In addition, Professor Leisenberg gave a talk on "Internet of Things remote labs: Experiences with the IoT-based Analysis of moving images for student’s education". The talk was very well received and many questions were asked. The paper, which is also closely related to our SMeART project.
